This is an excellent opportunity for an Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA who loves reviewing and signing personal, estate, and trust tax returns, applying K-1s, and making sure every detail is accurate, compliant, and completed with care.

With a salary range of $90,000–$110,000 / year, this full-time Personal Tax Manager, offers long-term stability, clear ownership of your department, and the chance to run a high-quality Personal Tax Function within a well-respected firm. This Personal Tax Manager role is ideal for someone who genuinely prefers personal returns, and is motivated by helping clients navigate their individual tax situations with confidence and clarity.

This is an in-person position in Amherst, NY

Responsibilities :

• Lead the Personal Tax Department and oversee all individual tax return operations
• Review and sign 1040s (personal income tax returns) with accuracy and compliance
• Apply K1s, investment activity, and other supporting schedules to individual returns
• Review returns prepared by staff; provide clear notes, coaching, and quality control
• Serve as a trusted resource for clients regarding their personal tax obligations and planning needs
• Manage the tax calendar, deadlines, and workflow for the individual tax season
• Collaborate with leadership and other tax departments to ensure a cohesive client experience
• Stay updated on IRS guidelines and individual tax regulations
• Support a professional, team-oriented environment throughout peak tax periods
