Project Manager – Transmission & Substation Construction
Tacoma, WA | Utility Infrastructure | $180,000–$200,000 Base
This is your opportunity to lead the power projects that keep an entire region running. Our client, a respected engineering consulting firm, is hiring a senior-level Project Manager to drive major Transmission & Distribution projects supporting grid reliability and modernization on the Tacoma Power account.
If you’ve spent your career leading utility infrastructure projects and enjoy owning large, high-visibility programs from planning through closeout, this role puts you directly at the center of critical power delivery work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the full lifecycle of large-scale T&D projects including planning, engineering, procurement, construction support, and closeout
- Serve as the primary client-facing leader on utility accounts
- Manage schedules, budgets, forecasts, reporting, and risk
- Direct multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and contractors
- Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across all phases
- Oversee change orders, issue resolution, and continuous improvement
- Present project updates to senior leadership and client stakeholders
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management10–20 years of transmission & distribution project management experienceProven delivery of multimillion-dollar T&D projectsExperience with utilities such as PGE, BPA, PacifiCorp, PSE, or SCL preferredBackground with an engineering or consulting firm strongly desiredProficiency with MS Project, P6, or similar PM toolsStrong leadership, communication, and client management skillsCompensation & Benefits
