Information Assurance Technician (IAT) II for our
Norfolk, VA location. The IAT II will support the Revision and Maintenance (R&M) of curriculum, to include support of Electronic Classroom (ECR), Learning Resource Center (LRC), and network systems in support of Navy’s E-2, C-2, and LSO R&M contract. The IAT II shall be responsible for completing the Authority To Operate (ATO) process and ensuring the proper operation and availability of computer assets used in the delivery of associated courseware.
QUALIFICATIONS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required by the Site Manager.
- Oversees and shepherds the ATO and Risk Management Framework (RMF) process through to certification completion
- Maintains hardware and software; applies updates to software, and keeps the LRC and development network computer systems and training support systems running and updated as needed
- Implements the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program (IAVMP)
- Implements/installs applicable Government-directed patches including: Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA), Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVB), and Information Assurance Technical Advisories (IATA) for the trainer operating system(s) and software applications
- Performs antivirus updates and virus scanning
- Assists with the design, development, documentation, integration and maintaining the security architecture for the Training device that satisfies the DODI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) security control set
- Other duties as assigned consistent with IAT support of the LRC and courseware development networks
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - Must be able to qualify as Information Assurance Technician II to perform System Administrator tasks, in accordance with DoD Instruction 8570.01M (minimum of CompTIA Security + Certification or equivalent required)
- Experience completing DoD and U.S. Navy ATO and RMF processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Cybersecurity desired but not required
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong written skills
- Ability to obtain/maintain DoD SECRET Security Clearance
