Position Overview This role involves performing non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic procedures with a focus on echocardiography, stress testing, Holter monitoring, and tilt table assessments. The technician is responsible for acquiring ultrasound images, monitoring patients during treadmill exercises, and assisting with cardiac diagnostic tests to support physician interpretation.
Key Responsibilities - Maintain a safe and clean work environment adhering to infection control standards.
- Acquire ultrasound echoes to visualize cardiac structures and measure parameters such as ejection fraction, wall motion, valve areas, septal defects, and thrombus.
- Prepare patients for multi-lead ECG monitoring during exercise, managing treadmill speed and incline to obtain stress ECGs.
- Apply and remove continuous ECG monitoring devices, review recordings for abnormalities, and correlate findings with patient logs for cardiologist review.
- Monitor patients during positional changes to detect fainting or abnormal heart rhythms.
- Complete non-invasive cardiovascular procedures in accordance with clinical training and certification.
- Perform procedures including echocardiography, cardiovascular stress testing, and Holter monitoring.
Qualifications - Minimum of one year of experience in echocardiography or equivalent internship experience.
- Maintain required competencies and certifications.
Education - Graduate of an accredited Echocardiography program.
Certifications - Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider program.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification required.
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification preferred.
