Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of recent perioperative experience and an active IN or Compact license.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Operating Room of a hospital settingUnit has 24 beds with an average patient census of 70-80Cases include General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resectionRequires circulating experience and exposure to advanced proceduresDaVinci XI University robotic surgery equipment is usedUses Cerner EMR; prior Cerner experience requiredDay shift schedule : 4x10s (7 : 00am-5 : 30pm), Monday-Friday with rotating day off40-60 hours of call required within each 6-week scheduleHoliday coverage is required; must work at least 2 of 3 major holidaysFloating to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals may be requiredResponsibilities include circulating for a variety of advanced surgical cases and working collaboratively with the surgical teamWill be part of a multidisciplinary perioperative teamMust participate in call rotation and cover major holidays as scheduledStandard hospital scrubs requiredAuto-approval of up to 5 days of requested time off is allowedAll new hires will undergo orientation and training on hospital policies and proceduresRequirements
Active IN or Compact RN license in hand or fingerprint application submitted before startCurrent BCLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNEAt least 2 years of recent OR experience, with circulated cases relevant to the listed specialties within the past 3 yearsCharge experience preferredPrior Cerner charting experience18 months–2 years minimum perioperative RN experience requiredFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyLocal candidates are accepted for perioperative positionsPermanent or PRN employees of IU must be separated from employment for at least 12 months to be consideredBenefits
