Transportation Analyst II

Job Description

What You Will Be Doing

This transportation analyst position will evaluate and design transportation routes to maximize cost and delivery efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Research and analyze freight costs and classifications, delivery methods and delivery schedules to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
• Maintain databases of freight costs and transportation networks.
• Assist in negotiating transportation rates in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
• Assist in the analysis of transportation costs, equipment availability and service levels.
• Conduct cost studies to develop negotiating leverage, evaluate alternatives and reduce costs.
• Coordinate foreign merchandise production, quota, customs documentation and transportation as needed.
• May work with customs officials to work out delays and obtain release of incoming freight.
• May assist in compliance with federal regulations.

What We Are Looking For

• Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires at least 1 year related experience. Knows principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
• Knows industry and regulatory trends.
• Requires moderately advanced negotiation skills.
• Must know how to use Transportation Management Systems to optimize transportation networks.
• Must have effective written and oral communication skills.
• May require knowledge and understanding of the practical impact of import and export regulations in a wide range of countries.

The compensation range for this position is approximately $60k - $72k and will be based on the candidate's qualification, experience, and education.
