Your Responsibilities Will Include :

  • The installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of all new and existing server systems including but not limited to firewalls, domain controllers, communications servers (email, mobile, phone, IM), database-backend / frontend servers, file servers, web servers, standalone product / service-specific servers, backup servers / appliances in both physical and virtualized environments, both on-site and at remote locations in a near 24x7 environment
  • Monitors utilization of servers and reports any failures / potential failures with server-related hardware, software, or services
  • Implements best practices to ensure server systems security against unauthorized access from persons both inside and outside the company
  • Maintains proper documentation for server systems as well as emergency / disaster recovery plans
  • Assists PEC employees and IT support staff as needed

You'll Thrive If You Have :

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field / Advanced degree or higher in a related field
  • 4 years in directly related experience / 5-10 years indirectly related experience
  • Understanding of server hardware
  • Understanding of Microsoft server / client operating systems
  • Understanding of MacOS, Linux, iOS and Android operating Systems
  • Understanding of backup / recovery technologies
  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory services
  • Understanding of email technologies and protocols (Exchange, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, ActiveSync)
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, ESXi)
  • Understanding of patching / updating / upgrading servers in a production environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot server issues (by identifying and researching error codes in event logs)
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and work with little or no supervision while staying on task
  • Candidate must have the ability to multi-task while tracking / completing open issues
  • Candidate must be able to work as part of a team
  • Candidate must be able to express themselves in both written and verbal communication

    • Bonus Points For :

  • Understanding of Microsoft Exchange, Sharepoint, WebApps, Project, SQL, Lync, IIS services
  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy
  • Understanding of multi-domain hosting
  • Understanding of cloud technologies
  • Understanding of SAN technologies (server-side)
  • Understanding of scripted processes (such as PowerShell)
  • Experience designing and implement AI infrastructure
