The position will be located in our mid-town Charlotte office. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of healthcare billing or financial counselor experience. Must have the ability to multi-task and have a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy and attention to detail.

• Identifies delinquent accounts and contacts patients regarding payment arrangements prior to their scheduled appointment. Maintains communication with front desk for collection efforts.
• Communicates over the phone and in-person with patients to discuss payment policy, payment plans and accepts payments. Evaluates patient’s financial status and establishes a budget payment plan within our policies as necessary.
• Prepares patient correspondence in accordance with our policies.
• Utilizes various internal reports to monitor patient account activity, takes appropriate action based on these reports and maintains communication with the affected internal and external parties.
• Processes, posts, and balances patient payments daily.
• Responds to inquiries from attorneys and patients.
• Identifies, researches, and resolves patient billing complaints / issues.
• Serves as a back-up to front desk for patient check-in as needed.
• Supports the A / R team as needed to complete assignments.
• Complies with all our processes and HIPAA regulations.
• Applies our values in decision-making and interactions with all individuals.
• Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork.
• Other duties as assigned by changing needs, patient flow, or physician request.
