Job Summary The Program Evaluator serves as a key resource for students, faculty, and staff regarding degree progress, transfer credit evaluation, and degree conferral. This position supports students’ success by monitoring academic progress, interpreting university policies, and ensuring accurate and timely evaluation of academic records. The Program Evaluator also assists with Commencement planning and collaborates with university departments to enhance student engagement, retention, and completion. Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Academic Advisement & Degree Progress
- Provide program-specific advisement to traditional, transfer, and non-traditional students regarding course requirements, transfer articulation, and academic progress.
- Determine student eligibility and satisfactory progress toward degree completion and communicate findings to ensure compliance with academic and financial aid requirements.
T ranscript Evaluation & Record Management
Evaluate transcripts to determine course equivalencies, degree applicability, and transfer credit.Maintain accurate and complete academic records, including grade changes, petitions, curriculum updates, and degree audits.Student Support & Referral
Refer students to appropriate campus resources such as tutoring, counseling, and study skills support to promote academic success.Commencement Coordination
Participate in the Commencement Committee to ensure smooth execution of the university’s annual graduation ceremony.Registrar Policy Advisement
Advise students, faculty, and staff on Registrar policies, academic program requirements, and registration procedures.Provide guidance on financial assistance opportunities, work programs, and scholarships as appropriate.Workshops & Student Development
Develop and facilitate workshops on internships, pre-professional preparation, major exploration, and career planning.Supervise and mentor student assistants or interns as assigned.Reporting & Compliance
Prepare reports and maintain records in compliance with university policies and applicable regulations.Review and recommend improvements to record management and evaluation processes.Other Duties as Assigned
Perform related responsibilities that support the mission of the Office of the Registrar and the University.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Additional education or other formal training in an area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
Demonstrated work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Ellucian Banner or a similar student information system.Proficiency with degree evaluation systems such as CAPP and Degree Works.Familiarity with Transfer Evaluation System (TES) , Transferology , iTransfer , and the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) .Knowledge of academic program structures, curriculum requirements, and statewide transfer policies.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical ability.Ability to interpret and apply complex academic policies and procedures.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Additional Applicant Information Physical Requirement / Demands Work Environment
