Prisma Health, the largest healthcare provider in South Carolina, seeks Emergency Psychiatrists as faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Emergency Psychiatry. Successful candidates should be prepared to shape the future of Emergency Psychiatry at Prisma Health and contribute to the academic mission of the department.

Join a dedicated team of Psychiatrists providing frontline psychiatric care in an innovative and unique care delivery model that is redefining the approach to the assessment and treatment of behavioral health issues in the emergency department setting. There is a devoted Psychiatric Area within the ED with a state-of-the-art Psychiatric Pod.

• Single-location work site at the flagship, downtown hospital with no travel requirements
• Ample teaching and supervision opportunities with accredited 3-year Emergency Medicine and 4-year Psychiatry residency programs, as well as one of the nation’s newest allopathic medical schools – the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville, located on campus.
• Innovative telepsychiatry consultation program serving the health system’s satellite EDs
• Flexible shift work (9–10-hour shifts)
• Full-time status requires an average of 130 clinical hours per month (13-15 shifts / month)
• Excellent base compensation as well as additional incentives based on clinical, operational, and academic productivity.
