This is a position for Distribution Design Engineering Technologist 1, 2 or 3. The purpose of this position is to gain knowledge or design projects in the electrical industry by delivering safe, clear, and technical designs that match customer standards. Applicants will ultimately demonstrate the ability to effectively master Duke Energy systems in an effort to deliver work ready job plans to construction crews. Position will have some supervision and guidance but will require a self-driven individual who can manage workload independently after training.
Engineer Technologist 1
Required Specifications
- Associates / Bachelor degree in Engineering Technology OR Minimum 1 year related experience
- Starting Hourly Range - $20 - $25
Engineer Technologist 2
Required Specifications
3+years prior experience in distribution planning OR less experience with the combination of engineering technology educationStarting Hourly Range - $26 - $33Engineer Technologist 3
Required Specifications
6+years prior experience in distribution planning OR less experience with the combination of engineering technology educationStarting Hourly Range - $34 - $40Basic Duties and Responsibilities for all positions
Always maintain a safe working environment including on site in office and out in the field via an ever-changing environmentGather and analyze all appropriate field and technical information to provide turnkey product to customersUtilize customer standards to deliver, develop, and implement cost effective designsWork alongside peers to identify and obtain appropriate permitting from city and other municipalities when requiredCoordinate with construction crews if further information is required to complete jobPerform field work as needed to perform designsMaintain effective communication with peers to help facilitate larger customer driven jobsWork in time efficient manner to adhere to company driven benchmarks in an effort to avoid construction delaysMust pass a background chek / drug screening testCAD'ing skills a plus but not required.
