Position Summary :
Provides technical support for existing molding processes and pre-production sampling. Ensures first / last piece quality meets customer expectations and resolves molding issues during shift. Verifies correct resin-to-color / regrind ratios and that production meets or exceeds standards. Maintains efficient operation of all equipment to support production goals. Collaborates with management and peers to enhance productivity, safety, quality, and team performance. Supports all shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications and approved processes through quality control checks and process monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and optimize molding processes, robotic systems, and secondary equipment to improve efficiency, performance, and product stability.
- Maintain accurate technical logs and documentation of process adjustments, enhancements, and corrective actions.
- Support new mold startups, sampling, cycle optimization, and machine safety checks.
- Assist with mold and color changes, ensuring proper setup and material ratios.
- Evaluate process control and capability, addressing out-of-control conditions and non-conformities.
- Promote continuous improvement through employee involvement and support of plant initiatives.
- Foster a safe, clean, and GMP-compliant work environment.
- Mentor and develop Junior Process Technicians to build technical expertise and job proficiency.
- Respond promptly to customer needs with a strong sense of urgency.
Job Requirements :
5+ years of experience with continuous extrusion blow molding machines (e.g., Fischer, Bekum) and machine repair.Skilled in maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic math calculations.Proficient in reading and understanding manuals, change instructions, and order specifications.Able to work under pressure to minimize downtime and meet deadlines.Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally (e.g., machine parts, tooling).Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours continuously) and work in noisy, dusty environments with moving equipment.Must be available for overtime and call-ins to support production across all shifts.
