Maintenance Engineer Assistant

Schedule : Sunday-Thursday, 8 : 30 AM-5 : 00 PM

Pay : $16.00 per hour

Status : Temp-to-Hire

Location : Waco,Tx.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and self-motivated individual to support our hotel's Engineering Department.

This position offers the potential to transition into a full-time Maintenance Engineer role for individuals who demonstrate reliability, initiative, and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities (Full-Time Engineer Role)

  • Respond to guest and associate maintenance requests.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public spaces, and mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct property rounds and safety checks, including chemical readings and other life-safety protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and repair items related to :

Air conditioning & refrigeration

  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry & painting
  • Utilize systems such as Quore and GXP to record work activity.
  • Support overall safety and security procedures for the property.

    • Qualifications

    Required for Immediate Role :

  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Dependable, responsible, and self-motivated.
  • Strong communication and follow-through.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening ; individuals with theft-related or violent offenses will not be considered.

    • Growth into Full-Time Maintenance Engineer) :

  • General knowledge in one or more of the following :

    • HVAC

  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Mechanical repair
  • Carpentry
  • Painting
  • Previous experience in building, facility, hotel, or apartment maintenance.
