There are 2 LDOR rooms and 2 LD PACU bays available. The unit is staffed by 79 personnel. Day shift consists of 1 CNC, 1 unit secretary, 8 RNs, 2 scrub techs, and 1 resource TCN. Night shift consists of 1 CNC, 1 unit secretary, 2 scrub techs, and 7 RNs. Patient ratios are 1 : 2-4 in OBED and APU depending on acuity, and 1 : 1-2 in LDU depending on acuity. Equipment includes bedside ultrasounds, dopplers, fetal monitors, infant warmers, OR equipment, and sterile vaginal tables. EMR systems in use are Meditech and GE CPN Centricity. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances. Typical procedures performed on the unit include sterile vaginal exams, FSE / IUPC placement, and circulating for cesarean sections. Other procedures include NSTs, oxytocin induction / augmentation, magnesium sulfate therapy for preeclampsia and fetal neuroprotection, and insulin drip titration. Unit guidelines include adherence to attendance policies and meeting schedule commitments. The unit may cancel shifts up to 2 times per 13-week contract depending on census.
