Overview
The Database Engineer is a technical leader responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise-scale database systems and data integrations across the DSO ecosystem. This role ensures reliable data movement between clinical, financial, HR, and operational platforms to support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design, and maintain enterprise database solutions supporting high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Lead development and optimization of SSIS packages for ETL processes and data feeds.
- Design and manage data warehousing solutions to support BI reporting and analytics.
- Own and support BI reporting data feeds used by leadership, finance, operations, and clinical teams.
- Develop and maintain enterprise integrations, including :
- CRM platforms (., Dynamics)
- Microsoft Dynamics / ERP systems
- HRIS systems
- JD Edwards (JDE)
- Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM)
- PMS Systems
- Oversee EDI integrations with external partners, vendors, and payers.
- Ensure data integrity, security, governance, and compliance (HIPAA, SOC, internal standards).
- Partner with software engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data requirements.
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
- Establish standards, best practices, and documentation for database and integration development.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in database engineering or data integration roles.Advanced expertise with SQL Server, including performance tuning and indexing strategies.Strong hands-on experience with SSIS, ETL pipelines, and data orchestration.Proven experience building and supporting data warehouses and BI reporting layers.Experience integrating enterprise systems such as CRM, Dynamics, HRIS, JDE, and MIM.Experience with EDI standards (X12, HL7, or similar).Strong understanding of data modeling, normalization, and dimensional modeling.Experience in healthcare or DSO environments is strongly preferred.Preferred :
