Job Summary :
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Scheduler. T his position is responsible for accurately performing the pre-access functions required to schedule patients. Duties include but not limited to :
- Accurately schedules patients in accordance with guidelines, including but not limited to adding and deleting procedures and rescheduling appointments.
- Collaborates with physician and / or staff to assess the needs of the patient to effectively manage the patient’s pre-registration experience.
- Courteously and professionally interviews patients over the telephone, demonstrating outstanding verbal and customer service skills.
- Provides patient prep requirements according to procedure specific documentation.
- Obtains insurance information to expedite the verification / authorization / pre-certification process.
- Maintains all pre-services documentation necessary for compliance with state, federal and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Must attend mandatory meetings.
- Must be available Monday-Friday daytime shift.
Qualifications
Experience / Training / Experience :
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Minimum One (1) year scheduling experience in a healthcare environment required.Medical Terminology and basic mathematical calculations, basic computer knowledge required.Knowledge of medical clinic functions (scheduling, billing, insurance verifications and authorizations, ICD9 and CPT4 coding, patient procedures, medical records) preferredCertifications / Licenses :
Current BLS / CPR certification required.Other Skills and Abilities :
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.Profecient in using office equipment such as fax machine, copier and telephone system.Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment.May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.Occasionally subject to irregular hours.May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessaryBenefit Highlights :
