Responsibilities & Duties
The Finance Clerk plays an essential role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of Gospel Rescue Mission. This position is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in reporting and compliance efforts. Working in close collaboration with the Payroll & Accounts Payable Administrator, Purchasing Agent, and Finance Manager, the Finance Clerk helps ensure financial processes run efficiently and in alignment with GRM's mission and values. Additional duties, including but not limited to the following :
General Activities
- Maintains full integrity of all revenues, ensuring GRM's policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, are followed
- Enter A / R payments, A / P invoices, and process vendor checks
- Assist in preparing invoices and monitoring outstanding balances
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors for favorable conditions
- Coordinate buyer and purchasing activities for buying supplies, equipment, or materials
- Oversee office supplies for all departments (purchasing)
- Assist in the preparation of federal, state and local tax forms and reports
- Ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and testing
- Develops procedures that ensure collections are complete and current
- Assist with audits and provide required documentation
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
- Manage the process of achieving budget goals (expenses), reducing cost overruns in each department
- Analyzing price proposals, financial reports, and other relevant information to decide on a purchase
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Record and report outcomes of GRM financial efforts as outlined in department playbook
- Performs other related duties as requested

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferredFinance experience in non-profit organizations is highly preferred1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financeProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP)Working knowledge of financial practices and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailProficient with accounting software and standard office and accounting equipmentPersonal integrity, truthfulness and accountability are critical, invaluable and essential characteristicsMaintain a valid Arizona Driver's License and must have a clean driving recordBilingual English / Spanish a plusMust be Christian, living a life dedicated to Christ, and be an instrument of God's love, grace, hope, and forgiveness to allPhysical Demands :
