Flint Hills Resources (FHR) is seeking a Data Analyst to join our team in Wichita, KS. As a Data Analyst you will play a critical role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions. You will serve as a key liaison between stakeholders and technical teams, gathering detailed requirements to understand data needs, performing comprehensive data analysis, and developing effective data models. Your collaboration with engineering and architecture teams will help ensure data workflows and architectures are optimized for efficiency and scalability.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document detailed data requirements and business needs
- Conduct in-depth analysis on complex data sets to extract meaningful insights using Python, SQL, VQL, and graph-based technologies
- Develop and maintain data models that support evolving business capabilities and decision-making
- Document data ingestion workflows and work closely with ingestion engineering teams to ensure accurate and seamless data integration
- Evaluate current data architecture and partner with solutions architects and engineers to identify opportunities for system improvements or comprehensive rebuilds
- Communicate consistently with data architects, engineers, and product teams to align technical solutions with organizational goals
- Ensure data models are efficient, scalable, and accurately reflect business requirements
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Query languages experience, especially in one or more the following languages: Cypher, SQL, VQL, GraphQL
- Experience developing proof of concepts, testing new ideas, and industrializing into production systems
- Experience developing and supporting business analytics applications such as Power BI, MS Excel, MS Access, or other data visualization platform
- Experience gathering requirements or complex technical information from both technical and non-technical audiences
- This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
- Experience with Neo4j Graph database and Cypher
- Experience with data quality and stewardship
- Experience with Denodo
- Experience with development languages (Typescript, Python, etc.)
- Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google, or Azure
