We’re small enough to communicate and big enough to deliver. We are looking for an CNC Operator at our Hamden CT facility to continue to support our manufacturing operations.

This position is an hourly, union position and reports to the Machining / Fabrication Supervisor.

This job requires a broad knowledge of fabrication (sheering, rolling, bending, welding, punching, waterjet) and machining. We work with only aluminum. Welding experience is a plus.

Core work hours are Monday - Thursday, 6am - 4 : 30pm with overtime on Fridays, 6 - 8 hrs.

Requirements :

Sound mechanical ability, with an emphasis on understanding how parts need to be fabricated to meet print requirements.

Excellent Math Skills / be able to pass shop math test.

Ability to work with various CNC machines, to include, but not limited to, vertical milling machines, punch presses and waterjets.

Using supplied drawings and pertinent CAM programs, generate the required CNC machine specific programs to produce required parts.

Prior Computer Aided Machining software experience is definite plus.

Must be fluent in the use of measuring tools to include, tape measure, vernier calipers, indicators & micrometers.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop fabrication drawings.

Advanced knowledge of machine tools, speeds, feeds, fixturing etc.

Must be able to read and understand Shop Orders and Shop Releases.

Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude.

Must have a good attendance record.

Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Collaborate & effectively communicate with engineering & sales on prototype work and “one offs”.

Must be able to work safely and understand all safety requirements pertaining to equipment.

Must be able to work overtime on short notice including Friday and Saturday as necessary.
