Job Description
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) seeks a highly experienced Senior Director to lead the foundational OCI service – Virtual Networking Dataplane (VCN Dataplane). VCN Dataplane is central to almost every OCI strategic initiative. In this role you will drive the strategy, design, delivery, and operational excellence of the software components that make up OCI’s networking virtualization stack.
The Senior Director will lead a geographically distributed technical team, partner with key stakeholders across OCI, and ensure the service aligns with OCI’s strategic objectives. The position demands a seasoned professional who embodies OCI values and can navigate complex challenges to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Responsibilities
Define product strategy and roadmap by partnering with product management and senior leaders, including SVPs across OCI.
Represent the organization at the VP and SVP level.
Operate large‑scale software fleets to ensure services meet OCI’s scale requirements.
Collaborate with your team, peers, and senior leadership to identify product and customer requirements, coordinate delivery, and integrate solutions to meet business needs.
Recruit and build out a capable, cohesive engineering team that delivers complex projects on time.
Influence cross‑functional teams and other departments to achieve shared goals.
Qualifications
BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years of people‑management experience with a proven track record managing large‑scale critical services.
Expertise in strategic planning, resource management, and performance optimization within a technology‑driven environment.
Exceptional decision‑making abilities and a history of influencing senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Strong background in recruiting, developing, and leading senior individual contributors and building high‑performing teams.
Ability to make decisions that significantly impact the organization’s infrastructure, revenue, and long‑term operational success.
Expertise in low‑level programming languages (C / C++), distributed systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure operations.
Salary Range
US : Hiring range in USD from $141,200 – $338,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
