Registered Nurse Job, 12 Hours Night Shift (7p-7 : 30a), Orthopedics

Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for Orthopedics to work nights at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.

The Orthopedic Department is a recently remodeled unit of primarily private rooms dedicated to the care of the orthopedic population. This unit provides 24-hour care to the orthopedic surgical patient as well as some medical / surgical patients. The unit is staffed by a supportive multidisciplinary team who work together to meet the needs of our patients. Unit based Therapy services; an Orthopedic Clinician and a Spine / Ortho coordinator provide additional support to our staff. This department has an active Unit Council that works in collaborative manner to affect change and overall improvements.

Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities :

• Responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process.
• Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates.
• Practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of PH by providing the highest quality care.
• Provides for the well-being of the community, services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values : dignity, compassionate care, community, quality and stewardship.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
• BSN preferred.
• Obtains and maintains current certification as required in specialty areas.
• Obtains and maintains current CPR.
