Job Title
Assist a Correctional Facility Food Administrator 1 in the management of a food service operation of a facility with 500 beds or more. The responsibility includes, but is not limited to, the supervision of all subordinate food service staff and incarcerated individuals assigned to work in the food service area, and the assurance that the food service operation is in compliance with the policies and procedures established by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Division of Nutritional Services and New York State Department of Health State Sanitary Code Subpart 14-1. Additionally, may perform duties normally assigned to subordinate staff, on an as needed basis.
Minimum Qualifications
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
Or 5. a bachelor's degree in dietetics, hotel management, or nutrition, with 15 college semester credit hours in food management.
At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While
serving permanently in an NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
