HR Business Partner - Construction

In this role, you will have the opportunity to :

  • Develop and execute Human Resources (HR) strategies to support leadership in achievement of business objectives
  • Provide executive level HR consultation by driving solutions for business needs
  • Work collaboratively across parts of BV executive leadership and other COEs
  • Provide employee relations support for the Construction organization

The role will require 25% travelling.

Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start up and decommissioning and field engineering.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Provide executive level consultation to the Black and Veatch Construction business area
  • Creating and driving strategic programs
  • Implement programs based on business needs
  • Training, development, and skill enhancement
  • Performance Management
  • Culture Assessment and development
  • Employee relations & coaching
  • Identify, plan, execute critical HR goals
  • Cultivate a partnering relationship with executive level leadership
  • Consult and provide insights to leaders
  • Act as a change agent for implementing new HR programs, processes and / or initiatives
  • Act as liaison between division and HR functional areas
  • Minimum qualifications include :

  • 8+ years progressive HR and / or Staffing experience
  • Workforce planning experience required
  • Preferred qualifications include :

  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field; Human Resources preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of HR programs, policies and procedures understanding of Human Resource Information System(s)
  • Experience with supporting and coaching executive level leadership
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage several projects of functional areas concurrently
  • Strong long-term conceptual planning ability
  • Business acumen and ability to understand business metrics and financials
  • Experience developing and implementing HR procedures that drive solutions for the business
  • Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
