Resident Engineer

An experienced NICET Level IV certified Resident Engineer is needed for a NYS Thruway Authority construction project from Exit 42 to Exit 44 in Ontario County, NY. This project will begin in March 2026. The Resident Engineer will oversee all aspects of the project to ensure that the work is completed in accordance with the contract documents. They will also oversee the work of all inspectors on the project and complete all administrative duties involved in the coordination of the project. The candidate will be a proactive self-starter and a leader to others.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee contractors' work to ensure conformance with the contract documents and NYSTA standard specifications
• Supervise the work of inspection staff
  
• Address field and design changes as necessary
• Prepare engineer's diary and daily work reports
• Approve contractor submittals
  
• Prepare change orders, and payment estimates
  
• Hold progress meetings.

Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required
• A minimum of 10+ years of construction inspection experience
• NICET Level IV Certified or equivalent based on experience
  
• Experience completing daily work reports, change orders, and payment estimates
• Provide a detailed resume highlighting your experience
