Production Machine Operator

Open to someone with 1-2 years of machine operation experience with some relevant injection molding experience!

Our client with a key production plant located in San Diego with customers all over the world, designs and manufactures high reliability electrical and optical systems used in dry and underwater applications.

  • Location : Scripps Ranch, 3 miles from Mira Mesa Blvd
  • Starting Pay Rate : $19.00-$21.00
  • Hours : Monday – Friday, 6 : 00am – 2 : 30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works press controls to activate machines to compress compounds between molds to form and cure specified products.
  • Removes cured products from mold using hand tools
  • Cleans machines and work area to maintain a clean work environment (6S)

    • Education and / or Experience

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1- 2 years production experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination or education and employment.
  • Some experience using manual injection molding machines with materials such as Polyurethane, neoprene, epoxy, and EPDM preferred.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors for the wiring sequences of the connectors, and possess good vision (corrected vision is acceptable) to perform visual inspection of product quality and to identify defects.
  • Ability to assess condition of mold tooling, make recommendations for maintenance / cleaning, and improvements
  • Experience to select the correct mold for the shop order requirement
  • Experience to understand and adjust all equipment controls and settings per requirements
  • Knowledge to assess good parts from bad prior to moving to the next operation
  • Must have good manual dexterity to effectively use basic tools and equipment.
  • Must have basic computer skills to utilize email, IFS ERP system and basic Excel skills.
  • Must be available for overtime weekdays and Saturdays as needed.
