Litigation Attorney - NC License Required
Hamilton Stephens Steele + Martin, PLLC is an established and reputable mid-sized law firm in desirable uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. We are looking to hire a litigation associate attorney to join our growing team!
The Ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to take ownership of files appropriate to their level of experience and will be a self-starter, confident, and team-oriented. The firm prioritizes effective and timely communication with clients and colleagues, and successful candidates will share that priority. While the preferred candidate will have 3-5 years of legal experience, the firm is open to fewer or greater years of practice so long as they possess these qualities.
The duties of a litigation associate will include but are not limited to legal research, drafting pleadings, taking and defending depositions, drafting and answering discovery, arguing motions, preparation, and assistance with mediations, trials, and arbitrations. The firm provides the opportunity to practice across its practice groups. Experience in construction litigation, e-discovery, and first chairing depositions is a plus.
Some travel should be anticipated. A NC license is required.

Salary & Benefits
Salary starts at $110,000 and increases based on the candidates' experience and other qualifications. The firm offers a full range of benefits, including paid parking, an automatic 3% 401k retirement contribution after one year, employee health/dental insurance ($50/month for employee coverage), vision, FSA, HSA, STD, LTD, and Life Insurance coverage — potential to earn an annual bonus.
