MEP Superintendent - NYCHA Rehabilitation Projects

We're seeking an experienced MEP-focused Superintendent to oversee building systems upgrades within NYCHA and public housing rehabilitation projects across New York City. This role centers on field-first leadership, coordinating all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, and low-voltage scopes while working within occupied and unoccupied residential buildings. You will drive MEP scheduling, trade coordination, shutdown planning, inspections, safety, quality control, and compliance with NYCHA, DOB, DEP, FDNY, and utility requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily field supervision for MEP system upgrades, riser replacements, boiler and heating plant work, electrical modernization, plumbing re-pipes, sprinkler installations, and related building-systems renovations
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, fire alarm, low-voltage, and controls subcontractors; maintain sequencing, access, and productivity across active work areas
- Develop and manage shutdown plans, utility coordination, and restoration milestones in collaboration with NYCHA site teams, building staff, and residents
- Oversee inspections with DOB, FDNY, Con Edison, DEP, consultants, and NYCHA QA teams; ensure closeout documentation, sign-offs, and testing are completed correctly
- Maintain professional, respectful communication with residents, building personnel, tenant associations, and agency partners while executing work in occupied units
- Monitor progress, quality, and trade compliance; identify and resolve field issues quickly to avoid delays to MEP paths of work
- Enforce a safe jobsite aligned with OSHA, NYCHA requirements, Confined Space protocols, and all company safety standards
Qualifications
7+ years of field experience as a Superintendent or MEP Superintendent, with strong NYCHA, HPD, HDC, or public housing rehabilitation exposureDeep understanding of building systems construction : heating and hot water systems, electrical distribution, plumbing risers, sprinkler systems, fire alarm, and low-voltage workExperience managing tenant-in-place MEP work, building access coordination, resident notifications, and controlled shutdownsProficiency in DOB processes, third-party inspections, MEP testing and commissioning, and multi-trade coordination in existing occupied buildingsFamiliarity with Procore, PlanGrid, or similar field management toolsOSHA 30 required; 62-hour SST Supervisor strongly preferred; FDNY F-01, S-12, S-13, or similar credentials a plusWhy Join
