Minimum Age Requirement : Must be 23 years or older for insurance requirements Experience : A minimum of [Insert Number, e.g., 3-5] years of verifiable experience specifically operating a heavy-duty / big rig tow truck and performing vehicle recovery. Skills : Proven ability to operate winches, dollies, hydraulic systems, and other specialized towing and recovery equipment. Knowledge : Comprehensive understanding of rigging techniques, load securement, and applicable DOT safety regulations. Physical Requirements : Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull heavy objects; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch; and work in all weather conditions. Availability : Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be on-call for emergency response. Problem-Solving : Excellent decision-making skills to safely manage unpredictable and high-pressure recovery situations. Certifications : WreckMaster or other recognized recovery training certification is a plus.

Big Rig Tow Truck Driver. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy-duty towing and vehicle recovery, possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Heavy-Duty Towing : Operate a heavy-duty tow truck to safely and effectively tow and transport large commercial vehicles, including semi-trucks, buses, RVs, and construction equipment, often in adverse weather or traffic conditions.
- Complex Vehicle Recovery : Respond to and manage complex accident and breakdown recovery scenarios for big rigs. This involves uprighting overturned vehicles, extricating vehicles from ditches or embankments, and securing loads.
- Equipment Maintenance & Inspection : Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIRs) on the tow truck and all associated equipment. Maintain the truck and equipment in clean and working order, including cables, chains, winches, and rigging.
- Mechanical Troubleshooting : Utilize strong mechanical inclination to assess the condition of disabled vehicles, identify potential hazards, and perform minor roadside repairs or adjustments to facilitate safe towing.
- Documentation and Compliance : Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including service tickets, invoices, safety reports, and logs (e.g., electronic logging devices - ELD) in compliance with company, state, and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Customer Service : Interact professionally and courteously with customers, law enforcement, and other emergency personnel at job sites.
