Production Team Member - Sparton Enterprises

Summary

The Production Team Member is accountable for the proper handling, inspecting, sorting and feeding of raw materials during the production process. Additionally, this position is responsible for inspecting the overall quality, proper packaging, labeling and storage or finished materials. All Production members are responsible for general housekeeping and safety of their work areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Follow company policies & procedures, including guidelines/instructions set by the Production Manager
2. Maintain adequate production rate for the assigned process/ area (bagging, buffings, granulating, etc.), efficient and accurate
3. Ongoing general housekeeping of work area
4. General working knowledge of processing & production equipment (buffings, bagging, granulating, etc.)
5. Sort raw material for contaminants and sizing and quality control, which may require physical moving of material
6. General knowledge of raw material including proper identification & use
7. Consistent physical activity, including but not limited to standing for extended periods of time, lifting/carrying 55 pounds, bending, squatting or other physical requirements
8. Identify and recognize finished product sizing
9. May be required to operate a forklift and other applicable equipment and machinery according to safety and training guidelines
10. Engage in clear, consistent and professional communication between Production Manager, Maintenance and other Production Team Members
11. Responsible for unloading/loading of raw materials and other product, this may include physical lifting or by other means
12. Work cohesively as a team for maximum production output
13. Perform proper sealing, stacking, wrapping and labeling during production and bagging process
14. Look for ways to minimize waste
15. General knowledge of equipment setup & emergency shut off, including Lock-out tag our and other safety related items
16. Remain conscious of quality improvements and report any concerns to Manager as they arise
17. Other duties that may be assigned by Production Manager or General Manager

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old
• Forklift experience helpful
