About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Shift : 12H Days

Hours per Shift : 5 a.m. - 5 : 30 p.m.

Experience : Minimum of 1 year

License : Valid state license required

Certifications : BLS

Must-Have :

• Must have EPIC experience
• Preferred travel experience
• Must have state license in hand
• Will accept local placements (must live within 20 miles from facility)

Description :

Drivers license required for consideration.

Unit has 31 beds with nurse-patient ratios of 1 : 5-6.

Common diagnoses include CHF, strokes, chest pain, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, detox, and underlying cardiac conditions.

Experience in radial band and femoral catheter recoveries is required.

Registered Nurses are not required to titrate drips.

Common drips include Lasix, heparin, bumex, protonix, and octreotide.

RNs read telemetry.

Centralized telemetry technician assists with monitoring.

Team Lead serves as Charge Nurse during the day and does not take on patients.

Charge Nurse on nights, weekends, and holidays takes patients.

Nurse Aides are present on the unit with ratios of 1 : 10-12.

CPAP / BIPAP is used intermittently.

Scheduling for shifts is done to accommodate staffing needs.

Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.

Holiday requirements involve working every other holiday.

There is no call or standby requirement.

Floating to medical floors and step-down units to care for telemetry patients is expected.

Caribbean-colored scrubs are the designated uniform for the unit.

A single 12-hour shift of unit-specific orientation is provided.
