Job Description :

JSL is seeking an Engineer II to support the Command-Wide Engineering Support Services (CESS) Program, with the goal of providing quality systems engineering and technical expertise to aggressively improve Warfighter readiness, as well as to improve and modernize the delivery, quality, and cost of products and services. Port Hueneme Division (PHD) of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) is responsible for Combat Systems; Test & Evaluation; Digital Engineering; Sensors, Weapons & Launchers; Modernization & Installation; Aegis; Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Cooperative Engagement Capability; Fire Control System (FCS) MK 92; Fire Control System MK 99; Guided Missile Launching System; Vertical Launch Systems; Ship Self Defense System (SSDS);Tomahawk Weapon Control Systems / Suites; Guns Weapons Systems; and DDG 1000.

Requirements :

The candidate will also perform the following tasks :

1. Apply theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems.

2. Analyze the impact of the products developed or the systems designed on the environment and on the users

3. Perform testing, production, or maintenance by supervising production to determine the root cause of failure, and the testing of manufactured products to maintain quality.

4. Estimate the time and cost to complete various engineering projects.

Minimum Qualifications :

• High School diploma or GED certificate
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Experience reading, interpreting and developing Engineering Drawings / Blueprints and schematics
• Ability to write reports and review / develop technical documentation such as technical manuals as well as installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing to a variety of personnel at external activities
• Organization and prioritization skills
• Able to use MS Office Software Products such as Word and Excel

Security Clearance :

Applicants must have an active security clearance and / or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Government- granted security clearance.
