Job Description

Responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides nurse / clinician with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythm. Monitors heart rhythm patterns to detect, record, and report normal / abnormal heart patterns, normal / abnormal ECG interval measurements and proper / improper pacemaker or implantable defibrillator function utilizing telemetry equipment.

Full Time

Monday - Friday

8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns and prior variances.
  • Observes cardiac monitor and notifies the nursing and / or medical staff of any abnormal heart rhythm variances.
  • Manages telemetry equipment and supplies.
  • Must successfully complete a competency examination as defined by department competency requirements for Telemetry Monitor Technicians.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree or higher preferred

  • Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
