Construction QC Inspector

GovStaff is seeking a Senior level Construction Quality Control Inspector with a minimum Secret Security Clearance to support critical civil engineering projects in Laurel MD. The focus of this key position is to lead the implementation of an effective quality control (QC) program and use these provisions daily to control the quality of selected civil engineering projects for the firm.

The selected QC Inspector will support The James J. Rowley Training Center (JJRTC) at 9200 Powder Mill Road in Laurel Maryland. The selected Quality Control (QC) Inspector will ensure theimplementation of an effective Construction Quality Control program to assist the JJRTC Facility Engineering Branch in accomplishing its missions.

Responsibilities :

• Review the deliverables and submittals for contract conformance
• Perform daily inspections to verify all work is in strict compliance with the contract and request correction of any deficiencies.
• Develop a construction QA plan for each project including inspection testing and reporting procedures as well as plans for monitoring corrective actions taken by contractors.
• Prepare daily written QA reports recording all discussions with contractor QC including deficiencies. QA reports should be completed and submitted within 48 hours.
• Participate in the pre-construction meetings for each construction work item required by the QA plan.
• Monitor QC inspection and testing activities performed by the may include working some nights and weekends as the project schedule dictates.
• Duties may include working some nights and / or weekends when schedule dictates
