Role Overview :

The Head – AHP (Erection & Commissioning) will be responsible for managing all activities related to the erection and commissioning of the Ash Handling Plant in a greenfield thermal power plant project. The role involves strategic planning, execution, coordination with contractors and OEMs, and ensuring adherence to timelines, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and supervise the complete erection and commissioning of the Ash Handling Plant (wet and dry systems).

Prepare detailed project plans and schedules and monitor progress.

Coordinate with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal teams.

Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and statutory requirements.

Troubleshoot site issues and resolve bottlenecks to ensure smooth execution.

Conduct pre-commissioning checks, trial runs, and performance testing.

Ensure documentation, quality checks, and handover procedures are followed.

Manage site manpower and resource planning efficiently.

Report project status to senior management regularly.

Qualifications & Experience :

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

15+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years in AHP erection & commissioning in thermal power plants (150 MW and above).

Proven ability to manage large-scale site operations.

Skills :

Strong leadership and project management capabilities.

Sound understanding of Ash Handling Systems.

Excellent coordination and communication skills.

Safety-conscious with attention to detail.
