POSITION FUNCTION SUMMARY : Must be able to work with or without supervision with the ability to analyze problem to make corrections or to take appropriate action. Incumbent must have experience in the operation of heavy equipment associated with Public Works operations. Incumbent will also assist in maintenance, repair and construction of streets, parks, water, wastewater and storm drainage. Routinely operating small tools, light and heavy motorized equipment associated with these operations during the hours of 7 : 00 am to 3 : 00 pm. Monday through Friday, working in all weather conditions or working overtime as needed in all hours of the day or night. Incumbent will be in charge in absence of immediate supervisor.

• Arrive at work every day on time as scheduled.
• Perform job related tasks as dictated by work orders or supervisors.
• Train in the water / wastewater technology.
• Operation of heavy equipment
• Ability to diagnose electrical systems as related to wells, pumps, and lift stations
• Have a working knowledge of basic surveying and blue line interpretation.
• Assist other departments as directed by supervisor.
• Read and understand written job instructions and plans.
• Complete work orders and other necessary paper work on the completion of assigned tasks or maintenance of equipment.
• Hear clearly and interpret hand signals when operating equipment.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
