Job Title : Food Manufacturing Quality Technician

Type : Temp to Hire

Shift : 2nd

Pay : $20 / hr

Job Summary

The Quality Technician I is responsible for ensuring product quality and food safety by performing routine quality inspections including but not limited to Line Clearance, weight checks, pallet inspection, Critical Control Points (CCP) monitoring, test and hold sampling, and enforcing all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Enforces and adheres to all current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) per the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
• Follows and enforces all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding QA tasks and protocols.
• May cross-train and learn other areas of Quality Assurance.
• Maintains knowledge and learns all tasks in at least one area of QA.
• Ensures all actions are taken to prevent food from being contaminated.

Production Duties -

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Although this position has no direct Supervisory responsibilities, the QA Tech I is responsible for giving direction to those who may not be following proper GMP protocols, and / or food safety procedures.

Work Environment :

The production facility and associated warehousing are refrigerated facilities, which means this position must be able to work in a cold, wet, and loud environment for long periods of time with the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires frequent standing, stooping, and / or bending for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Food Safety / Maintenance :

All food safety and quality problems must be brought to the attention of someone with authority such as your Supervisor, Quality Technician or Quality Manager to initiate action, if necessary.
