Senior Tax Attorney - Associate / Counsel

A highly regarded boutique law firm in Chicago is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Attorney to join its growing private client practice. The firm works closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses on sophisticated tax planning, compliance, and controversy matters.

Responsibilities :

Advise on complex income, gift, and estate tax planning.

Oversee tax compliance for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and nonprofits.

Collaborate with accountants, fiduciaries, and external advisors.

Represent clients in IRS audits, notices, and controversies.

Stay current on tax law changes and advise clients and colleagues.

Requirements :

Active Illinois law license required.

10+ years of progressive experience in tax law, compliance, estate planning, or controversy.

LL.M. in Taxation, CPA, CFP, or related credential preferred.

Experience in private client, family office, or wealth management setting strongly valued.

Exceptional drafting, analytical, and client-facing skills.
