The Role

Develops analyzes researches and designs welding techniques procedures and applications. Uses engineering principles to manipulate materials for fabrication and assembly processes. Prepares technical documentation in order to implement waterfront welding processes including specifications analyses standards and restrictions. Creates new or modifies current welding methods techniques and procedures in order to substantiate welding theories.

Must Have

Bachelors Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Masters Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Nice to Have

Capableof working in a shipbuilding environment and navigating through ship structures as required to resolve welding issues.
