Duties and Responsibilities :

• Participate in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Conduct learning exercises with small groups of students.
• Guide students in developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
• Assist in supervising pupils in classrooms corridors cafeterias lavatories schoolyards and during field trips.
• Support Pre-K through 5th-grade students with toileting feeding dressing positioning and other self-care needs.
• Alert teachers to the special needs of individual students.
• Collect and distribute instructional materials and supplies.
• Correct students work and assign remedial tasks under teacher supervision.
• Operate duplicating and copying machines for instructional use.
• Assist teachers in addressing personal and physical needs of students.
• Support discipline procedures and assist in behavior management strategies.
• Reinforce academic or behavioral skills based on student needs.
• Provide assistance to substitute teachers and ensure classroom continuity.
• Attend ongoing professional development sessions offered by RIDE PPSD and Local Union 1033.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administrator.
