Position Summary
As a Shift Leader, you will play a crucial role in creating a memorable guest experience while fostering a positive and productive work environment for your team. You will support the General Manager in mentoring and developing future leaders, ensuring that each team member is empowered to excel in their role.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist the General Manager in supervising a team focused on delivering exceptional results in quality, guest service, safety, and cleanliness.
- Effectively run shifts in alignment with company policies and procedures, ensuring smooth operations.
- Possess knowledge of various work station functions and complete essential paperwork.
- Supervise and lead a team of 1 to 7 members.
- Achieve objectives across different areas while adhering to company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all laws and ethical standards during shifts.
- Help foster a workplace culture that promotes being an 'Employer of Choice.'
- Provide leadership and training to enhance team performance.
- Assist in staffing decisions, including interviewing and administering disciplinary action when necessary.
- Deliver results in quality, guest service, safety, and cleanliness.
- Exhibit a positive and helpful attitude.
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items and communicate effectively with guests.
- Utilize the Point of Sale system to handle transactions accurately.
- Adhere to food handling and safety standards.
- Make recommendations to improve restaurant operations.
- Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards.
- May attend business meetings for training and development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1-2 years of experience in a quick-service restaurant or guest service environment with a focus on guest satisfaction and team training.Strong leadership skills and a commitment to quality service.Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Experience in motivating staff to achieve goals.Basic knowledge of computers and POS systems.Strong organizational skills for maintaining records and reports.Capability to recognize and address safety hazards in the workplace.Excellent communication skills for building professional relationships.Experience in implementing training plans for staff development.Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.Availability to work flexible shifts as needed.Willingness to perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.Experience, Education & Training
A valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance are required.1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a quick-service restaurant or guest service industry is preferred.Food Handlers certification may be necessary.The ability to stand and walk for 95-100% of the shift, including bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER
