Schedule : Day Shift — Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM–4 : 30 PM
Hours : 36 hrs / week (operationalized as 5x8s one week, 4x8s the next)
Job Purpose
The Maternity Nurse Educator functions as a change agent, mentor, leader, facilitator of learning, advocate for the nurse educator specialty, and partner in role transitions. This role integrates adult learning theory, experience, and evidence-based practice to guide and elevate clinical nursing practice.
Qualifications / Experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing schoolCurrent MA RN licenseMSN requiredANCC certification in Nursing Professional Development strongly preferredCurrent AHA BLSNRP and ACLS requiredNRP Fetal Monitoring Instructor preferredMust meet Nursing Professional Development (NPD) competency standards (ANPD)Continuing Care Nursery (CCN) experience requiredAdvanced maternal-child nursing skills, including :Fetal monitoring
Cardiac arrhythmia identificationIV medication titrationManaging epidurals and pain relief modalitiesAcute care of laboring patientsOR experience (circulator & scrub for C-sections)Advanced assessment skillsCore NPD Standards & Responsibilities
