The Role

We’re seeking an experienced and empathetic Engineering Manager to lead the Social SDK team. This team builds SDKs that empower game developers to integrate Discord directly into their games—making it easier to play with friends and build social experiences that extend beyond the app.

This role is highly impactful and aligns directly with Discord’s core mission of connecting people through gaming. If you're excited to lead a highly technical team, collaborate across functions, and shape the developer experience across engines and platforms, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead a High-Impact Team : Hire, coach, and develop engineers to foster a sense of ownership, impact, and career growth.
• Drive Cross-Functional Strategy : Collaborate with Product, Design, Global Partnerships, and Marketing to define vision and roadmap based on the needs of game developers.
• Technical Leadership : Contribute to the architectural direction and evolution of Discord’s Social SDK, focusing on scalability, performance, and cross-platform support.
• Process & Delivery : Define the right amount of structure and process to help your team thrive and deliver consistently high-quality results.
• Mentorship & Growth : Support engineers in their technical and career development through thoughtful coaching and opportunity alignment.
• Strategic Collaboration : Work closely with senior leadership to improve engineering-wide practices and shape the broader organization.
