emotion studios is an agency that champions human-centered storytelling. We are looking for a freelance UI / UX Designer to join us on a project basis (potential for mid-August through late October). The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Figma, understands the fundamentals of web development, and has strong UI design and problem-solving skills. You’ll collaborate closely with our team and clients to deliver high-quality digital experiences.

Responsibilities

Design user-centric web, mobile, and event interactive interfaces using Figma

Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI mockups

Apply design thinking to turn user needs and business goals into elegant solutions

Work with developers to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with implementation

Communicate clearly and professionally with clients — presenting ideas, gathering feedback, and making revisions

Maintain and contribute to design systems and reusable components

Iterate quickly based on team input and client feedback

Qualifications

A strong, versatile portfolio showcasing deep expertise in UI design, user flows, design systems, and responsive design

Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including mastery of components, auto layout, variables, prototyping, and team libraries

Leveraging the Atomic Design methodology to create consistent, modular, and maintainable UI elements

Solid understanding of front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, responsive behavior, grid systems) — no coding required, but you can speak the language of developers

Deep understanding of design thinking and human-centered design processes, with the ability to turn complex problems into elegant and usable solutions

Understand client guidelines and brand standards thoroughly, while confidently pushing creative boundaries to craft unique, compelling, and interest-driven designs.

Comfortable working independently, managing multiple projects, and delivering high-quality work under tight timelines

Excellent communication and client-facing skills — you know how to present design decisions clearly, take feedback constructively, and guide non-design stakeholders

Detail-oriented with a passion for pixel-perfect execution and consistent visual systems

Nice to haves

Experience designing for complex web platforms such as SaaS, Fintech, Health tech, or eCommerce

Proficiency with additional tools such as FigJam, Ceros, Notion, Webflow, Framer, or similar

Awareness of accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and inclusive design best practices

Prior work with agile teams, development handoff tools, and remote collaboration environments
