Job Description
Austal USA is searching for a skilled marine engineer or technician with hands-on experience inDiesel Electric Propulsion (DEP) and Machinery Control Systems. The ideal candidate will support mechanical and electrical system design, troubleshooting, and integration activities across propulsion and power-generation equipment. Strong diagnostic skills, familiarity with automation / control interfaces, and the ability to work in a dynamic maritime engineering environment are essential.

REPORTS TO : Deputy Program Engineer
SUPERVISES : Directs the work of engineering personnel assigned to the Project Team and engineering activities as directed by the Deputy Program Engineer.
SUMMARY : Responsible for technical / operational leadership of project(s) in a matrixed environment by performing technical studies to define, generate and review project requirements, monitoring the assigned project(s) to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained, and coordinates between resource managers / supervisors and ensures reviews and approvals are received.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE :

five (5) years' experience in either shipyard design and large ship construction or as a Cognizant Engineer over multiple systems or similar large scale engineering design project (i.e. offshore platforms), OR
