Real Estate Co-Op / Condo Attorney - New York
Our client, a full-service law firm, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented attorney to join their dynamic real estate team in New York City.
The estimated salary range for this position is $220,000 - $295,000 (annually) and may vary depending on experience and other factors.
Qualifications :
- Experience in Co-op and Condominium law
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills
- JD from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
- Admitted to the New York State Bar
Key Responsibilities :
Advise co-op and condominium boards on governance issues, fiduciary duties, and compliance with governing documents and applicable laws.Draft and negotiate construction, vendor, and professional service contracts.Assist with the refinancing of underlying mortgages and lines of credit transactions.Review, revise, and amend governing documents, including proprietary leases, bylaws, condominium declarations, and house rules.Counsel clients on the preparation and conduct of annual and special shareholder / unit owner meetings, including election procedures and proxy matters.Conduct annual and special meetings, including oversight of voting and reporting procedures.Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance issues, including those related to the Business Corporation Law (BCL) and Condominium Act.Assist in the review and negotiation of retail and commercial leases within co-op and condo buildings.Handle cooperative and condominium closings and advise on related transactional matters.Advise on trust transfers and review associated documentation.Work collaboratively with partners and clients to ensure timely and accurate delivery of legal services.About Us
