An Emergency Medicine Physician is needed for locum tenens shifts in a Pittsburgh hospital's Emergency Department, with a total of 14 shifts required monthly among a group of 2-3 physicians. The role entails handling an annual patient volume of 31,025 and collaborating with various consult services. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine, internal medicine, or family medicine, with at least 5 years of ER experience and an active Pennsylvania license.

A hospital in the Pittsburgh area is in need of 2-3 locums physicians to provide a few shifts each month. They need a total of 14 shifts / month spread between all the physicians . Please call Monica at for more details or email an updated CV to for immediate consideration.

Details :

  • Location : in Pittsburgh, PA
  • Setting : Emergency Dept

31,025 annual volume (85 pts / day)

  • 4 physician shift and 2 APP shifts daily (single coverage from 2a-8a, 2-4 provider coverage all other times)
  • Consult services : pulm / crit care, ortho, gen surg, infectious disease, neuro, tele-stroke, vascular surgery
  • Start : ASAP (temp and emergency privileges available, can start in 30 days)
  • Length : 6 months
  • Minimum 5 shifts / month
  • Schedule : 11a-9p, 2p-10p, 2p-11p, 6p-2a, 9p-6a (8-10 hr shifts)

    • Required :

  • Board certified / board eligible emergency medicine, internal medicine, or family medicine
  • 5 years of ER experience
  • Active PA license

    • Compensation :

  • 1099 contract paid weekly pay negotiable
  • 100% of malpractice insurance covered
  • Local candidates preferred but travel can be included if needed
