Description
Collect, process, and analyze large structured and unstructured datasets from multiple sources.Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models to solve business problems and optimize operations.Design and implement statistical models, data pipelines, and predictive analytics solutions.Communicate findings and insights clearly through visualizations, dashboards, and reports.Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation.Stay current with emerging data science methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards.Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the designated worksite or client facility to support periodic on-site meetings, reviews, and inspections in accordance with contract and security requirements.Participate in both on-site and virtual work as needed; while hybrid or telework arrangements may be approved, regular in-person presence is required to fulfill client, program, and compliance obligations.Ensure availability for site visits and coordination activities that support contractual commitments and operational needs.Education & Certifications
Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (or Bachelor’s degree with additional 2 yrs relevant experience).Experience and Qualifications
2-4+ years of hands-on, applied experience in data science, machine learning, or analytics.Proficiency in Python or R for statistical modeling, data wrangling, and machine learning.Experience developing, tuning, and deploying models using frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) strongly preferred.Experience working with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Databricks, Snowflake) preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytical thinker with the ability to translate data insights into actionable business solutions.Demonstrated ability to own projects from concept to deployment, balancing autonomy with collaboration.Detail-oriented and proactive, with a passion for learning emerging data tools and methods.Proficiency in Python or R for statistical modeling, data wrangling, and machine learning.Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with both relational and non-relational databases.Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn).Demonstrated ability to bridge advanced research and applied data science solutions preferred.Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.
