• Position Overview :
• We are seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, particularly in the following practice areas :
• Insurance Law :
• Handling coverage opinions, insurance bad faith claims, and general insurance litigation.
• Complex Tort Litigation :
• Defending cases involving catastrophic auto accidents, personal injury, and wrongful death.
• Oil and Gas Litigation :
• Representing clients involved in exploration, drilling, and production of natural resources in New Mexico's Permian Basin.
• Medical Negligence Defense :
• Defending physicians, healthcare providers, clinics, and hospitals against allegations of medical negligence.
• Assisted Living / Long Term Care :
• Representing long-term care facilities and professionals in cases alleging personal injury, abuse / neglect, and wrongful death.
• Key Responsibilities :
• Manage all phases of litigation from inception through trial, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis on complex legal issues.
• Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate with partners and other attorneys to develop case strategies.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide timely updates on case progress.
• Qualifications :
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the New Mexico State Bar.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on the practice areas mentioned above.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to providing high-quality legal representation and client service.
