Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A middle school Special Education Teacher position is available for an in-person contract assignment in Brunswick, ME, starting ASAP. This role focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs through both resource room instruction and 1 : 1 case management in a middle school setting.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload that typically ranges from 15 to 20 students in a resource classroom, providing specialized instruction tailored to each students Individualized Education Program (IEP). Alternatively, the teacher may provide 1 : 1 support for 8 to 10 students with more intensive needs, including those with behavioral goals or individualized programming requirements. The assignment emphasizes behavioral goal implementation and collaborative work alongside general education staff to support student success.
