Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Circulator

Focus on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for your surgical procedure. We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Circulator Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in ophthalmology (particularly cataracts) and orthopedics. This position involves working across multiple service lines and requires a self-starter who can adapt quickly and work collaboratively with surgeons and the OR team.

Location : On-site in New Lenonx, IL
Shift : Monday - Friday 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM (There are 3 Saturdays in December that they may ask them to work)
Pay : $40.00 - $43.00 / hr
Key Responsibilities :
The Registered Nurse Circulator provides nursing care and service during surgery cases.
Circulate in the OR for a variety of surgical procedures, with a focus on Eye (Cataract) and Orthopedic cases.
Prepare the OR suite before each procedure, ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are available.
Verify and gather supplies specific to each physician's preferences and case requirements.
Assist in patient preparation, positioning, and transfer as needed.
Maintain sterile field integrity and uphold infection control standards.
Participate in post-procedure room turnover and assist with cleaning (no housekeeping staff support).
Pull and prepare cases for the following day.
Communicate effectively with the surgical team, anesthesia providers, and support staff.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Qualifications :
Experience : A minimum of 1 year experience working as a Circulator.
Education : Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
Licensure / Certification :
Active RN license in IL.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
Preferred Skills :
Experience in Ophthalmology (Cataracts) and Orthopedics preferred.
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and OR protocols.
Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to assist across multiple service lines (25-30 cases per day, depending on acuity).
Willingness to participate in cleaning and turnover tasks as part of the surgical team.
